Martel College

This year’s 24-hour challenge comes at a special moment for Martel: our 25th anniversary! Donations during the challenge will support three main initiatives:

1. Celebrating a quarter century of Martel’s history, people, and traditions;
2. Programming that makes the college home to the latest generation of Martelians; and
3. Extending opportunities for Martelians to engage with the rich culture and professional opportunities that Houston offers.

We’re planning an anniversary celebration that invites alumni back to campus to experience Martel again and connect alumni with Martelians past and present. We’re also curating a photo display that traces Martel’s story through images from its earliest days to the present, alongside throwback events that revive beloved traditions and celebrate the distinctive spirit that has defined Martel since its founding. These anniversary programs aren’t just about memories—they’re about strengthening the sense of community and belonging that makes Martel the best college ever!

At the same time, we’re excited to continue the vibrant programming that animates daily life at Martel. Over the past year, we have greatly appreciated donations from our generous alumni and friends. Thanks to those contributions, we’ve had a blast gathering together for a winter holiday meal, showcasing the talents of our musically inclined Martelians at our formal recital, carving pumpkins at a fall event, and celebrating Friendsgiving with our Junior class. Your ongoing support is essential to fostering these moments of creativity, joy, and connection that are at the heart of what makes Martel thrive.

We’re also eager to extend our activities beyond the Martel hedges to explore the incredible arts, culture, and food that Houston has to offer. We’re especially looking forward to launching new initiatives that further connect Martelians to professional networks and opportunities in Houston and to inviting speakers to Martel to help us learn together.
