Sock designer Alayna Rodriguez '29 (Martel) was elated to learn her artwork had been selected as the inspiration for this year's limited-edition Rice sock. A business and art major, she dreams of launching her own business built around products she designs.
Her vibrant artwork features a path leading to Lovett Hall, framed by blooming azaleas. "The Sallyport symbolizes both the beginning and end of every Owl's journey," she explains. "During graduation, we will all walk through it as changed individuals, signifying the growth Rice strives to nurture in all its students."
A Rice Fund scholarship recipient, Alayna hopes her socks will inspire others to support students like her, who rely on financial aid to chase their dreams.
"Rice has so many talented and amazing students, and many of them would not be here without your help," she says. "Thank you for using your resources to fund our futures."
